| Loch
Awe: is the largest freshwater loch in Britain and the British record wild
brown trout (31lbs 12ozs) caught on the opening day of the 2002 season by Brian
Rutland of Keswick. Brian intends to return to Loch Awe again this year and maybe he might beat his own record. |

| Among previous record holders was one of (30lbs 9ozs) caught here on July 13th 2000 by Ken Oliver, another of (25lbs 53/4oz) caught here in 1996, with one at 21lb 15oz taken during the 1999 season. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Stephen Pounder shown here, landed this 25lb 14oz cock fish on July 6 2001 using
a trolled lure. (picture again borrowed from the Oban Times) There is also excellent coarse fishing (perch, roach, eels) with pike of more than 30lbs having been landed at Loch Awe |

| Loch
Avich: a smaller loch adjacent to Loch Awe, containing Brown Trout which
are keen to take the fly throughout the summer and autumn, and is covered by
the same permit as Loch Awe. In May 1997 a 7lb 5ozs brown trout was taken on
a fly here. Permits for the Loch Awe system 2000 season: (I will update these charges to 2002 prices as soon as I can find them, but in the meantime this will give you a guide to the permit charges) |

Sea angling is popular with a wide variety of species just waiting to be caught by the serious angler, or by the youngster with a peice of string and a bent pin. The coley on the right were caught in the Sound of Seil on a pleasant summers evening. There are several charter boats in the Oban
area one of which is the Gannet:Telephone/Fax:

This is Michael from Munich with admirers. He caught this rather nice Pollock while out on a sea-angling trip from Craob Haven whilst staying at Innish in August one year. (If you happen to log on to this Michael, sorry the photo didn't turn out better.) |
