You can travel 4 miles to the other end of the Isle of Seil from Innish and take the small passenger ferry (a five minute trip back in time) across to the Island of Easdale.
The ferry fare is about £1 return and operates on demand (see notice at slip).

Easdale was at the heart of the Scottish slate industry from about 1745 until the quarries were flooded during a severe storm in 1881 and the industry vitually wiped out overnight. It is now an idyllic car free spot in the summer and a stroll around the island (about 30 minutes to all day) will give you magnificent views over the Lynne of Lorne and the neighbouring islands.

There is an award winning museum in one of the old quarriers cottages which is well worth a visit by the casual observer, or the serious academic.

Refreshments, tea and coffee, ice cream etc. are available at The Puffer Bar and Restaurant and Bert's Bothy.

Seafari expeditions are based here, running trips from Ellenabiech on Seil through the Gulf of Corryvreckan to play in one of the largest whirlpools in the world, taking in eagles, seals, deer etc. as you go around the island of Scarba and the Isles of the Sea. They also run trips to put you ashore on some of the uninhabited islands around this area.
